Excursion destinations in the national park region
Narrowly sleighs and coaches were collected in the “coach museum Gruber” in Großraming and in the own cabinet making restaurated. On about 1000 square metres 82 vehicles of different constructions are exposed. Every unique vehicle lives and tells its own story. If it is the sleigh, in which Josef Werndl sat or the wagon, in which Anton Bruckner travelled, the range of products reaches from the heavy harvest wagon over the diverse civil wagons to the elegant landau of the nobility and the “Schwarzer Graf”.
The nailers path in Losenstein is a travel to the past of the “Pearl of the Ennstal” – how Losenstein is called – and displaces you in the world of the nailer. Passing the historic sites, one comes to the Kesselfall and the Brandstätter Hammer, which has got the biggest collection of self- made nails all over the world. There a person can work on the burning ferrous by himself.
For 500 years the traditional austrian pen knives have been produced in old family tradition. "Im Tal der Feitelmacher", a 1, 5 km long way, leads to several places of production as to the production of the so called “Feitel” or to museums in the "Wegscheid", the grindery on the “König “ and to the tunery. Who like to try it oneself, can produce its own “Feitel”. The Drah' Hüttn invites to experimentation, building and playing.
Already in the end of the 14th century, in the forests of the valley of Reichraming wood has become lumbers. The transportation of the wood happend on the Water. First during World War I, one built a logging railroad, which among other things from the Wallerhütte, now there is the forest museum, to the centre of the city Schallau. The museum – an expedition for young and old – was once an every evening stop and first of all during the winter months the second home of the woodcutters. Today it shelters the gems of their moving past.
On the brink of the national park Kalkalpen the small location Unterlaussa is situated in the idyllic landscape. The longest material cableway of central Europe (13,5km) brought the bauxite from the Hintergebirge to the entrain place in Weißenbach.
In the faithful rebuilt miner house there you can find the mining past as well as the way from the exploitation of natural resources to the final product aluminium.
The „Enns-Museum Kastenreith“, the „Kasten an der Enns“ was once the most important staging point of the rafters between Hieflau and Steyr. Now in this traditional building an overview of nature, cultural history, folk art and the economy of the Enns space with the main focus on the timber rafting will be shown. Absolutely profitable are trips to the Katzensteinermühle, a workable farmer mill of the year 1820, which is situated directly on the promenade of the Enns-Museum to the market centre.

Tours with the float on the river “Enns”
Unique – and this in whole Austria! A particular adventure offers a tour with the float on the dark green river “Enns” on the original raft. Tested rafters and a musician are at pains to arrange the well being of the guests. During the tour, which takes about 2 hours, one can beef up oneself by a so called Fletzerjause and a glass of must.

Children riding weeks
The national park region Ennstal is a small paradise for children. Different riding farms organise, in addition to the classic riding weeks, also children riding weeks with looking after in the holidays. The children pass one week without their parents on the holiday farm and experience all about the horse. With pedagogic trained persons in support there are several programs like painting, games, karaoke, bonfire, a talentshow and a mini disco in the breaks between the riding lessons.
